MISSION
Mercury Private School with intensive English and German language education, specializing in management, marketing, and finance. The school emphasizes individual development, discipline, and respect, fostering confidence, responsibility, and resilience in facing challenges.
THE SCHOOL AND THE COMMUNITY
Mercury School is a private educational institution in Bratislava offering students the possibility to pursue their education from the first years of primary school through to high school graduation. This continuity fosters stability, a strong sense of belonging, and long-term personal and academic growth. The school cultivates a strong community through a wide range of activities, including sports such as tennis and a well-established chess club, which brings together students of different age groups. These programs enrich student life while supporting the development of teamwork, discipline, and strategic thinking.
A close partnership between parents and the school is an integral part of Mercury’s identity. Families are not only actively involved in school life, but many parents know one another personally, creating a supportive and interconnected network. Parents also contribute directly to major events such as the school’s high-level Christmas concert and the annual student award ceremony. Mercury is a place where people of many nationalities meet and form a strong international community in the capital city of Slovakia. The school provides an environment in which integration and tolerance are considered essential values, ensuring that students, parents, and teachers alike feel welcome and respected.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM AND ITS HIGHLIGHTS
At Mercury, primary school and the bilingual grammar school form a continuous pathway. The primary school provides pupils with a strong foundation in core subjects, early foreign language instruction, and the development of key skills. The bilingual grammar school builds on this foundation with an academically rigorous program taught partly in English, focusing on languages and economics.
English Bilingual Program – a portion of lessons is taught in English by experienced teachers.
From First Grade to Graduation – Mercury provides comprehensive and holistic education for all age groups, from six-year-old first graders to graduating seniors.
Focus on Economics – specialized courses in marketing, economics, and management are taught in English by experienced teachers with practical expertise, following well-structured curricula.
Business English – a curriculum designed to prepare students for practical and real-life situations in the world of business and formal communication.
DSD Diploma – students have the opportunity to prepare for and obtain the official German Language Diploma (Deutsches Sprachdiplom), recognized internationally as proof of high-level German proficiency.
Emphasis on Sports and Culture – the school offers students a wide range of enriching experiences, including theatre performances in various languages, international trips, chess tournaments, tennis workshops, gallery visits, and academic lectures.
Online and Hybrid Learning – as one of the first schools in Slovakia to implement full-scale online education during the Covid-19 pandemic, Mercury continues to provide online mentoring and consultations for students unable to attend classes in person, most often athletes or students participating in exchange or language programs.
Make-up and Retake Opportunities – student progress is a top priority at Mercury, and therefore regular days are reserved for completing missed assessments or, under strict conditions, retaking previously completed tests.
Extensive Extracurricular Program – a wide variety of after-school clubs are available for younger Mercury students, offering activities from different fields to support their all-round development.
